Council Member Bergeson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br /> adoption: <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99- 14 <br /> RESOLUTION Supporting Metro Greenways Grant Submittal For The <br /> Construction Of The Clearwater Creek Greenway <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has prepared a plan to develop a greenway along <br /> Clearwater Creek from The City of Hugo to Interstate 35W; <br /> AND WHEREAS, This greenway is an integral part of the stormwater management needs <br /> of the soon to be developed commercial area along this creek corridor; <br /> AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes desires to preserve the environmental qualities <br /> of the Clearwater Creek Corridor and the water that flows from this creek into the Rice <br /> Creek Chain of Lakes; <br /> AND WHEREAS, Creating this greenway will provide buffers and ponding areas adjacent <br /> to the creek to allow for protection of our water resource; <br /> AND WHEREAS, The Clearwater Creek Greenway would provide a means to restore <br /> biologic diversity in the animal and plant community along the greenway, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF LINO LAKES,MINNESOTA- That the Greenway Grant application to the <br /> Nfinnesota Department of Natural Resources, requesting assistance to purchase land and <br /> construct the Clearwater Creek Greenway for the ecological benefits of our natural <br /> environment so that residents may enjoy these benefits for years to come,be approved. <br /> Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8tt day of March 1999. <br /> Mayor Kim Sullivan <br /> Mat yn G.
