Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department <br /> 7204 Lake Drive <br /> C I T Y`' O F Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br /> NKE (651) 780-1885 Fax (651) 784-7227 <br /> ()LA <br /> March 29, 1999 <br /> TO: Park Board Members <br /> FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: March Park Maintenance Highlights <br /> The month of March has found the maintenance employees putting our winter maintenance <br /> activities to bed for another year while waking up our parks for another busy spring/summer <br /> season. <br /> MAINTENANCE HIGHLIGHTS FOR MARCH: <br /> • Attended MTI University—Irrigation, turf, and athletic field maintenance training <br /> • Attended Shade Tree Short Course—Tree inspector certification. <br /> • Removed bleachers from most park locations. (safety concerns) <br /> • Backstop repair at City Hall west field. <br /> • City Hall east ballfield improvements <br /> Removed old backstop and out of play fence posts <br /> Removed old players benches, new field layout (expand infield) <br /> • Painted interior of Sunrise and Birch Park shelters. <br /> • Playground inspections. <br /> • Snow plowing of streets, parking lots, and trails. <br /> • Equipment maintenance and changeover. (snow blowers to lawn mowers) <br /> • Developed new trail head sign design. <br /> • Trail and boulevard sweeping. <br /> • Interviews for seasonal employees. <br /> • Ordered maintenance equipment and supplies. <br /> March has been a busy month and with the maintenance and improvement projects we have <br /> scheduled spring and summer will definitely keep us hopping. <br /> MH:sw <br /> sw/parkbrd/March 99 Park Maintenance Update.doc <br />
