Lino Lakes Neighborhood Park Programs <br /> City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota <br /> (Meeting held Jan. 5', 1999) <br /> Marshan Park: <br /> • Play Areas: Elementary and Pre-school (currently have$27,000 set aside for equipment <br /> and $5,000 for pea gravel/curb) <br /> - Currently have (1)daycare in neighborhood - infant only <br /> - One other close daycare- only up to about 8-9 yrs. old <br /> - A few kids in townhome developments <br /> - Seating areas <br /> • General Skating Area: Very important and used often. <br /> - Maybe increase its size <br /> - Consider lighting (not likely due to City policy) <br /> - Consider using existing building for warming house (access off back) <br /> - Consider having over hard surfaced area (basketball court) <br /> • Existing Building: staying on site,use uncertain at this time <br /> - Warming house, use for neighborhood(block parties, restrooms) <br /> - Multi-use facility (karate, dance studio, etc.) <br /> - Storage <br /> • Parking: <br /> - Currently 8 spaces at park building <br /> Depending on use of building,more spaces may be needed <br /> -Look at best access to parking <br /> -Keep parking to exterior of park <br /> -Try to keep parking for park use off neighborhood streets <br /> -Aesthetics <br /> • Barrier along Lake Drive: <br /> -Visually screen traffic <br /> - Provide barrier to keep kids from running onto street <br /> - Currently have people driving across path from Post Rd. to Lake Drive <br /> • Open Ballfield/Soccer Area: <br /> -Backstop only <br /> - Space for neighborhood play and maybe some practice for ball and soccer <br />
