Program �ii ;hlights � Pbruary Park Board Update <br /> .�� f- YOUTH <br /> Toss Kick and Catch: This new program is going well. The participants work togther , <br /> with their parents to learn basic sport skills such as throwing, kicking, and catching. <br /> J' Wild Away For A Day Trips: Our winter "Wild Away for a Day" trips have concluded. We <br /> had five successful trips this season-four ski trips and one valentine program at WargoN <br /> Nature Center. Over 130 youth participated in these trips. <br /> Vil"In {� <br /> &3 Skatin Par :New this season: a skating ar or participants, and their families, <br /> g �' g P ty.f P P .f <br /> 3 in the following programs: Snack and Skate, Basic Figure Skating and Hockey Skills <br /> Development. The party was held at the Centennial Sports Arena. It was very enjoyable <br /> to see parents skating alongside their children. We arranged a deal with the Sports Center !- <br /> t` to have the concession stand open for treats. People were also given a coupon worth$2.00 ' <br /> at the concession stand. <br /> WARMINGHO USE SHELTERS <br /> Warminghouse shelters: The warminghouses opened this season on Monday, December 21 and`� <br /> closed on February 10, 1999. Compared to last year, this season was just as poor. A final <br /> 1� report will be ready for the Park Board next month. ,, 71 <br /> DANCE <br /> Dance. The dance classes this season saw an increase in participation. In order to " <br /> accommodate this high demand, additional classes were added. <br /> � 10 ADULT � <br /> r7 Team Sports: We are presently accepting registrations for our Adult Indoor Soccer program <br /> as well as Adult Softball. The soccer season begins March 14 and the the softball season is <br /> set to begin on April 26th. <br /> r SPRINGISUMMER PROGRAMS <br /> Summer Playgrounds: The summer playground program is being revised this year. The <br /> curriculum is being rewritten to include theme weeks. Theme weeks provide participants <br /> with opportunities to learn and experience new activities in an exciting playground <br /> atmosphere. Activities will also focus on teamwork, cooperation and creativity. { <br /> Options: Work on the Options program is underway. The morning hours will be staffed by , <br /> Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department staff and the afternoon hours will be staffed <br /> YMCA staff. The Options program will be held at Rice Lake Elementary.
