Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
7204 Lake Drive
CITY`' ` OF
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
N KE (651) 780-1885 Fax (651) 784-7227
February 18, 1999
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Mike Hoffinan, Parks Supervisor
SUBJECT: February Parks Maintenance Update
"Rink Closed" signs were hung on shelter doors on February 1 Oth bringing to a close another
skating season. This season ranks right up there with last years as one of the shortest in memory.
As we look forward to spring we have been working on a number of projects.
MAINTENANCE HIGHLIGHTS FOR FEBRUARY:
• Removal of dead or hazardous trees from city parks
• Removal of out-of-play and backstop fencing from City Hall East ballfields. (spring
improvement project)
• Bleacher inventory—to determine if our bleachers meet current UBC (uniform Building
Code) requirements. All (10 sets) fail. I am sure Rick will bring more information to the
board.
• Attended Pesticide Recertification training
• Attended Right-to-Know training
• Out-of-play fence removed at Sunrise Park Field#2. (Severely damaged by vandals)
• Repair and storage of hockey goals.
• Cleaning of warming houses
With spring approaching, we have already begun our search for hard working, reliable seasonal
laborers. If any of you knows anyone fitting that description please send them my way!
sw/mike/2-99 Park Maintenance Update.doc
