City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> January 4, 1999 <br /> The January 4 , 1999 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 : 32pm, by George Lindy, Chair. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were Jeff Reinert, George <br /> Lindy, Pam Taschuk, Sharon Lane, Pat Huelman, Joe Schmidt, and <br /> Paul Montain. <br /> Also present were Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director, <br /> Sandie Wood, Office Manager. <br /> APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 7, 1998 MINUTES: <br /> Sharon Lane made a motion, seconded by Pam Taschuk, to approve <br /> the December 7, 1998 minutes . The minutes were approved. <br /> SETTING THE AGENDA: <br /> The agenda was passed as presented. <br /> OPEN MIKEā€¢ <br /> No one was present for open mike. <br /> DISCUSSION OF TRAIL ISSUES RELATED TO ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY: <br /> Mr. Jeff Schoenbauer, Brauer and Associates, went over an aerial <br /> map of the buffering system which ties into the regional park. <br /> He indicated the objective is to update the greenway plan and <br /> keep the plan as close to the buffering system as possible . He <br /> stated the goal is to connect existing residential areas to the <br /> regional park and making all trail segments a pleasurable <br /> experience . <br /> Jeff said the City is working on an environmental plan that will <br /> suggest developers to work with the City to obtain conservation <br /> development, ecology and environmental benefits, maintain open <br /> space, and benefit the City' s trails and parks . <br /> Jeff stated he met with staff this afternoon and discussed <br /> several trail issues that included proposed trail connections, a <br /> Town Center pedestrian over pass, and connecting Wargo Nature <br /> Center to the county trail system with a boardwalk. <br /> Jeff suggested that if the Park Board is open to the idea of <br /> relocating the Behm' s Century Farm Park, it should be discussed <br /> with residents at the Master Planning meeting. The advantages of <br /> moving the park north include the park being more centrally <br /> located and it would open up linear trail connections . He noted <br /> moving the park would be more economical for the developer also. <br /> 1 <br />
