Park Board Minutes
August 5, 1991
OTHER NEW BUSINESS:
John Baumann expressed his feelings concerning a City golf course.
He feels there is a great need for one in the area, and it should
be handled through the Parks Department. He doesn't think a study
is necessary. There are 2 golf courses in the area now, possibly
another going in. They seem to be paying for themselves in about 5
years. Marty Asleson pointed out that the study would come out of
the general fund budget under "Professional Services" not the Parks
and Recreation budget. John Baumann noted that Parks and
Recreation will have to find ways to support themselves. Ken
Johnson agrees, he is opposed to putting money into a community
center, citing Shoreview as an example.
There was no other new business.
Candi Toffoli questioned when the next Park Board meeting would be
noting that the Labor Day Holiday falls on the first Monday of
September. After a brief discussion, all agreed that the next
meeting will be on Thursday, September 5, 1991.
Candi Toffoli made a motion to adjourn, it was seconded by John
Baumann. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 9:08 PM.
C:
