ACA3E15"'9J,A
A^
TO: Marty Asleson, Supt. of Parks, Rec and Forestry
FROM: Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor
DATE: May 29, 1991
RE: Playground Summer Staff
I have completed one part of our playground program, that of the
hiring of playground staff. I was very fortunate in that some City
Staff recommended people who were interested in becoming playground
leaders. I interviewed four young women, and was quite impressed
with what I saw and heard.
The first person I hired was a young woman from here in the City.
Her name is Lisa King. Although she is younger than I originally
' would have liked, she is experienced in working with children and
arts and crafts. Lisa is excited to be part of our program and what
we are trying to do this summer.
Another person I hired as a playground staff person is Amber Viger.
She is a student at UMD and studying Child Psychology. Amber is a
AIN very energetic, athletic person. I think she will work out real
well.
Christine Schuh is another who will be part of our staff this
summer. Christine is studying pre-med at Notre Dame. She is a very
bright young woman who really enjoys working with children.
Finally, I hired Amy Volk. Amy is also quite young, but is very
well known throughout the community. I thinks she will be a good
playground leader and a good person to have at our playgrounds.
The two playgrounds we will be using for our programs are City Hall
and Sunrise Park. The two staff people for each will be Christine
Schuh and Amy Volk at City Hall, and Lisa King and Amber Viger at
Sunrise Park. Amber and Christine are my senior leaders with Amy
and Lisa my junior leaders.
-.1
