Background <br />6 <br />3. Background <br /> <br />The City of Lino Lakes, which is located approximately 20 miles <br />Paul in southeastern Anoka County, provides approximately 4,175 residential, <br />commercial, industrial, and institutional customers with water and sewer <br />services. The City encompasses approximately 33 square miles and had a 2010 <br />Census population of 20,216 and an estimated 2011 population slightly higher <br />at 20,505. <br /> <br />Currently, the City obtains its water supply from four raw water wells. Water <br />storage for consistent pressure and for fire protection occurs in two elevated <br />storage towers. <br /> <br />Wastewater treatment is provided by the Metropolitan Waste Contr <br />Commission. Collection is accomplished through a series of trun <br />empty into one of nine lift stations operated by the City. <br /> <br />Water Fund <br />A review of the CityÓs most recent financial reports shows the W <br />Historical Information <br />ending cash balance has increased since 2009.
