CITY COUNCIL <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1H <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br /> MEETING DATE: July 26, 2021 <br /> TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 21-78 Approving an Application <br /> for a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License and Special Event <br /> Permit for the American Legion Post 566 Lino Lakes <br /> Family Fun Days <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority(3/5 Vote Required) <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The American Legion Post 566 has applied for a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License and <br /> a Special Event Permit for Lino Lakes Family Fun Days August 20th - 21st, 2021. <br /> The American Legion will be fencing off a portion of their property for this event. <br /> The Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division requires a 1 —4 Day <br /> Temporary On-Sale Liquor License to allow the consumption of alcohol in an outdoor <br /> area. The applicant is required to submit their request to the City for local approval <br /> before the application is submitted to the state for final consideration. <br /> The American Legion has requested to use city owned property on the corner of 77th <br /> Street and Lake Drive on Friday, August 20 for a family movie night as well as Saturday <br /> for overflow parking. <br /> The American Legion has submitted to the City an application for a Special Event. The <br /> application has been reviewed by staff, including the public safety department. The <br /> applicant has been provided with a list of safety conditions. The applicant has agreed to <br /> comply with the conditions and to address any other safety considerations that may arise. <br /> Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration of Resolution 21-78 <br /> authorizing the issuance of a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License and a Special Event <br /> Permit for the American Legion Post 566. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Approve Resolution No. 21-78 authorizing issuance of a 1-4 Day Temporary On-Sale <br /> Liquor License and a Special Event Permit for the American Legion Post 566 Lino Lakes <br /> Family Fun Days. <br />
