6
To the Lino Lakes City Council,
We the undersigned represent a group of homeowners in
the Brandywood Estates neighborhood who have recently become
very concerned about the development of the Brandywood Park.
We represent 8 households who are directly effected by
the park development and feel that there are concerns of ours
that have not been fully addressed to our satisfaction. (See
attached plot map for home locations)
We have the following concerns:
1. ) We are concerned that there have been variations from
the plan as presented at the park board meeting many of us
attended on 5/15/95.
2. ) We do not feel that parking and traffic issues have been
fully considered and we are very concerned that this will
have a very negative impact on our quality of life and home
market value.
3. ) We are concerned about the ambiguity of future plans
(i.e. , ballfield, lighting, parking) and have been unable to
get any specific satisfactory assurances as to our concerns
on this issue.
4.) We feel that recently we were left with the impression
that there would be no formalization of the Brandywood Park
in the future because of future plans of the rec center on
Holly street and County Road J. Specifically mentioned in one
of the prior meetings.
5. ) We feel that recently decisions have been centered on
amenities and aesthetics . (i.e. jungle gyms, slides,
basketball. ) This was done at the expense of broader
neighborhood safety, security/traffic and "quality of life"
concerns not only of those whose lives are directly affected
by the park project but the neighborhood as a whole.
6. ) Lastly our group feels that recently we have not had the
opportunity to be involved in the park process and we would
like to make sure our concerns can be addressed while
assuring everyone can work together in the future.
We would like to know what the urgency to forge ahead
has been at the expense of the more pressing concerns that we
have on how this project and how it will affect our lives.
