, <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1995 <br /> The February 6, 1995, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 :35pm. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Chair, <br /> Sharon Lane, Pam Taschuk, Ken Johnson, and Amy Donlin. Also <br /> present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation and Forestry <br /> Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, and <br /> Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. Not present was Joe Schmidt. <br /> APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 5, 1994 MINUTES: Sharon Lane made a motion <br /> to approve the December 5, 1994 minutes, Pam Taschuk seconded the <br /> motion. All voted aye. Minutes were approved. <br /> OPEN MIKE: There was no one present to speak under Open Mike. <br /> 20/20 VISION UPDATE: Kim Sullivan introduced herself and gave an <br /> update of the 20/20 Vision project. Kim provided the Park Board <br /> with handouts that gave a breakdown of what the residents <br /> interests are. Kim said there were approximately 250 people that <br /> responded to the invitations that were sent out. She felt the <br /> forums were a big success. The speakers said that this was the <br /> largest turnout they have ever seen at a forum. <br /> Kim said she wanted only to discuss park and recreation issues. <br /> She said the citizens want to see increased, improved, and <br /> maintained trails, they want to connect the community with <br /> trails, they want bike trails, they want more open spaces, they <br /> would also like adequate parking at the parks, they want to see <br /> maintained and developed parks, they would like to see the <br /> development of an adult use recreation facility, the development <br /> of a center for parents with their children, and an area for the <br /> elderly, and to increase recreational activities and build more <br /> parks. <br /> Kim left copies of the advisory group application. She told the <br /> board members that if they would like to sign up, to be in one of <br /> these advisory groups, they would be in the group as a resident <br /> and not as a Park Board member. However, if Park Board members <br /> are needed for their expertise they will receive a written <br /> invitation to attend a group session. <br /> Kim said the advisory groups will be meeting from March until May <br /> and then go to the City Council for approval in June. <br /> She went on to say in June we will be asked to start implementing <br /> some of the recommendations that the residents come up with. She <br /> did not think this was going to be hard for us because of what we <br /> ^ have already done with the Comprehensive Park Plan. <br /> 1 <br />
