LINO LAKES PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
PARK BOARD UPDATES
Here is a brief look at the current 1994-95 Winter activities.
It is anticipated that this condensed report will give you the
opportunity to see the attendance figures for the listed
programs.
Winter (current) programs 1994-95
Warminghouse Shelters
This season the department operated four shelters located at
Sunrise, City Hall, Birch and Country Lakes Parks. It is
anticipated that another shelter will open up next winter at Lino
Park. Although the final season numbers are not yet final, it
appears that our season attendance will be less than in years
past. This season the shelters opened unseasonably late (Jan 1)
due to the warm temperatures and closed more due to extreme cold
wind chill temperatures.
Snack and Skate Skating Lessons
These lessons have grown in popularity. Last season we had
approximately 30 participants, but this year we have over fifty
participants in this program.
Dance for fun
Thirteen people registered for this program this year. The first
time this program was offered last winter about the same number
had participated.
Pre-kids-Er-Cise
A class such as this one provides the opportunity for parents to
interact with there child ages 1-4 years of age. Currently we
have 24 people registered in two separate programs.
Kids Karate
One of our more popular programs over the past few years. In the
fall session we served about 70 participants. In the winter
session we are currently serving 53 students.
Spring Training baseball/Softball Clinic
Currently we have 25 registrants in this program. This program
is intended to be a fun experience for boys and girls from 10 -
15 years old.
