The bid quantity will include all of the trail segments noted in your memo dated July 24,
,. 1995.
2. The only items to be bid is the actual paving of the trail and some minor base preparation
work to provide a uniform paving surface and transverse slope. No import or removal of
base material will be included in the contractors bid.
3. Based on your memo which notes about 10, 147 feet of trail is to be paved, the estimated
project cost will exceed$25,000. As per State Statutes, a project of this magnitude must
be advertised.
4. We will also submit the project to contractors currently under contract on City projects to
determine if they would be able to complete the work as a change order to their original
contract.
5. The project will proceed according to the following schedule:
Send Construction Details to Existing Contractors
for Review as Change Order Work September 12, 1995
Receive Quotes from Existing Contractors September 18, 1995
Advertise in the Quad Community Press September 19, 1995
Open Bids and Award Contract October 2, 1995
Contractor Completes the Construction October 13, 1995
