LINO LAKES PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT <br /> PROGRAM PLANNING FORM <br /> Program: Youth Park Baseball & Softball Program <br /> Season: Summer-Late July-August Year: 1995 Location: <br /> Birch, City Hall, Rice Lake and Sunrise Parks Time (s) : <br /> Afternoon <br /> Possible Conflicts with facilities? <br /> The park and recreation departments schedules these <br /> facilities . These programs will not conflict with other <br /> programs . <br /> Program goals & Objectives : <br /> This program is intended to give the local baseball & <br /> softball player an opportunity to extent there season by <br /> participating in this program. This program will be set up <br /> by park if registration allows . Each park will have <br /> practices once a week and a game once a week. This program <br /> is intended be more instructional then competitive. <br /> Program Needs and possible impacts : <br /> As always, a quality instructors is very important . Contact <br /> has been made with the varsity baseball coach and <br /> participants from the high school Baseball Team to assist in <br /> instruction of this program. These facilities have baseball <br /> and softball programs playing on these fields during the <br /> Summer. Limited maintenance will be necessary to ensure <br /> safety and ascetics. <br /> Safety: <br /> The fields are in pretty good shape from the Summer <br /> programs . The grass will need to be cut and the field <br /> preparation will be taken care of by our instructors . The <br /> instructors will teach proper fundamentals, stretching and <br /> fitness methods. <br /> Maintenance: <br /> The fields will need to be mowed during this program and <br /> once a week it would be beneficial to have the ballfield <br /> maintenance person drag out each field that this program <br /> intends on using. These fields will not be chalked or lined <br /> out. <br /> Staff Needs: <br /> The park and recreation department equips the staff with the <br /> necessary equipment such as baseballs & softballs, bats, <br /> batting helmets, t-ball tees, bases. The catchers gear will <br /> need to be purchased or borrowing this equipment is a <br />
