<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: April 12, 2021 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 21-29, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 2021 Trail Maintenance Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the <br />2021 Trail Maintenance Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The 2021 Trail Maintenance Project includes: <br /> <br />Fox Road - Trail Maintenance <br />Maintenance of the trail that connects to Fox Road between Fox Circle and Deerwood <br />Lane includes milling and repaving the trail, repairing existing culverts, and installing <br />three ADA compliant pedestrian ramps at Fox Road and at West Shadow Lake Drive. A <br />location map is enclosed. Funding for the project is from the General Fund, Parks budget. <br /> <br />Quotes for the project were received on April 6th, 2021. <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL QUOTE <br />ACS Asphalt Concrete Solutions Did Not Quote <br />Allied Blacktop Co. $99,379.00 <br />Arcade Asphalt, Inc. Did Not Quote <br /> <br />The low bid was submitted by Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, in <br />the amount of $88,000.00. Bituminous Roadways, Inc. has adequately completed numerous <br />projects in the City of Lino Lakes. The completion date for this project is September 17th, 2021. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 21-29 accepting quotes and awarding a construction <br />contract for the 2021 Trail Maintenance Project, in the amount of $88,000.00 to Bituminous <br />Roadways, Inc.
