WS #1
WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT
Work Session Item No. 1
Date: May 3, 2021
To: City Council
From: Julie Bartell, City Clerk
Re: 2021 Board of Appeal and Equalization
Background
Each year the city council acts as the Board of Appeal and Equalization for Lino Lakes.
The purpose of the Board is to hear from property owners in the city who have questions
or concerns about the appraised value of their property for the coming year. The Board
has the authority to determine whether taxable property in Lino Lakes has been properly
valued and classified by the Anoka County Assessor.
State statute requires that at least one member of the board complete a training course.
Council Members Ruhland and Lyden as well as Mayor Rafferty have completed the
training.
This year’s Board meeting is scheduled for May 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. It will be the
first item on that evening’s work session agenda.
Anoka County Assessor Alex Guggenberger will be attending the work session to give a
brief preview for next month’s board meeting and a review of valuations.
Attachments
2021 Assessor’s Report for the Board of Appeal and Equalization
