<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1G <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: July 12, 2021 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Approval of Resolution 21-74, Quad Area <br />Community Family Fun Festival <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />The Quad Area Chamber of Commerce has applied for a Special Event Permit for <br />Thursday, August 19. <br /> <br />The applicant is proposing to have a group called Minnesota Sings perform, various food <br />trucks and a free car show, located at the Centennial Middle School property at 399 Elm <br />Street. <br /> <br />The Quad Area Chamber of Commerce has submitted to the City an application for a <br />Special Event. The application has been reviewed by staff, including the public safety <br />department. The applicant has been provided with a list of safety conditions. The <br />applicant has agreed to comply with the conditions and to address any other safety <br />considerations that may arise. <br /> <br />Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration a resolution authorizing the <br />issuance of a Special Event Permit for the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />A Certificate of Insurance has been submitted by the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce <br />to the City for this event. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 21-74 authorizing issuance of Special Event Permit for the Quad <br />Area Community Fun Festival. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Event Flyer <br />Maps <br />
