Consider Resolution No. 21-134, Approving Construction <br />Services Contract with WSB & Associates <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council’s consideration to accept bids, award a construction contract, and <br />approve a construction services contract for the CRJ/CSAH 49 (Hodgson Road) Trunk Utility <br />Improvements Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On August 23, 2021, the City Council ordered the project and authorized the advertisement for bid <br />for the CRJ/CSAH 49 (Hodgson Road) Trunk Utility Improvements Project. <br /> <br />The proposed improvements include construction of a sanitary sewer lift station and watermain <br />looping in the southwest corner of the City. The City’s water system is in need of strengthening in <br />that part of the City which is mitigated by the water system looping. The lift station is sized to <br />serve approximately 50 acres both east and west of Hodgson Road. Watermain and a sanitary <br />forcemain would be extended from Woodridge Lane to the western edge of the Lyngblomsten <br />project. The Lyngblomsten project will extend these facilities to the north and east. The City’s <br />project also includes the completion of the loop between the Lyngblomsten site and Linda <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Bids for the project were received on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. A total of 6 bids were <br />received. As shown below: <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br />Northdale Construction Company, Inc. $1,233,340.71 <br />Geislinger & Sons $1,285,500.00 <br />Park Construction Company $1,325,359.70
