WS – 2 <br /> <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Date: March 2, 2020 <br /> <br />To: City Council <br /> <br />From: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director <br /> Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br /> <br />Re: Water Treatment Facility Feasibility Study <br /> <br />Background <br />At the February 3, 2020 City Council work session staff discussed the need to prepare a Water <br />Treatment Plant feasibility study to evaluate future water treatment options. Staff has worked <br />with WSB and Associates to identify the necessary scope of the study. <br />WSB has submitted a proposal to complete the study for $39,886. The study components <br />include: <br />1) Evaluation of Alternative Water Supply Options to address short to mid-term needs. <br />2) Analyze Source Water <br />3) Evaluate Water Treatment Options <br />4) Review Potential Plant Site <br />5) Prepare Centralized Water Treatment Plan Preliminary Drawings <br />6) Evaluate future system needs and phasing <br />7) Study Neighborhood Impacts <br />8) Determine Estimated Costs <br />WSB is proposing to complete the Study by June 1, 2020. Architectural renderings are not <br />included in this phase of the proposal but can be provided for an additional fee. No public <br />outreach is included at this time. Staff would anticipate that both architectural renderings and a <br />public information meeting would be part of a future project development phase. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />Staff is requesting City Council direction to place consideration of the WSB proposal on the <br />March 9, 2020 agenda. <br />Attachments <br />1.
