Schedule Date for Strategic Planning Meeting –– The meeting was set for 15 <br />March 19, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room. 16 <br />Administrator Karlson also asked the council to arrive early on March 9th to have group 17 <br />and individual official photos taken. 18 <br />2. Review Regular Agenda – 19 <br />Item 5A, Contract with Northland Recreation, Inc. for Woods Edge Park 20 <br />Playground Equipment – Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed his written 21 <br />request to proceed with a contract to purchase the necessary equipment for this new park 22 <br />facility. He noted that he is comfortable with the contractor as they have provided 23 <br />services to the City in the past. 24 <br />Council Member Lyden asked about how the playground will be surfaced and Mr. 25 <br />DeGardner said it will be surfaced with engineered wood fiber and it will be ADA 26 <br />accessible. 27 <br />Council Member Lyden added that he’d find it advantageous to have a visual of what is 28 <br />planned; he wants to see equipment that engages the children. He also asked if the 29 <br />YMCA is partnering or planning to utilize this park and Mr. DeGardner said that the 30 <br />YMCA has not decided to officially be a part of the park project but he expects there may 31 <br />be some unofficial use. Council Member Lyden asked if there will be benches for 32 <br />parents and how much sunshine the site will provide Mr. DeGardner said some trees are 33 <br />being trimmed but the site will be quite shady; he will review the master plan at the 34 <br />council meeting. 35 <br />Council Member Stoesz asked if signage for this park will clearly indicate that this is a 36 <br />Lino Lakes’ park and not a YMCA park. Mr. DeGardner responded that he will make 37 <br />that a consideration as signage is installed. 38
