CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1D <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Swenson, Public Safety Director <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: April 27, 2020 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Noise Ordinance Enforced Signage <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Anoka County Highway Department is seeking City Council authorization, as required by <br />City Ordinance 805.06, to install signage stating “Vehicle Noise Laws Enforced” on Main St. in <br />the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Anoka County Traffic Engineer, Jane Rose, received a request from Lino Lakes resident Jerry <br />Ives (789 Main St.) that signage be installed to deter large trucks from “J-braking” and creating <br />unnecessary noise. <br /> <br />Anoka County Highway Department has requested the City Council authorize the installation of a <br />“Vehicle Noise Law Enforced” sign on Main St. per City ordinance 805.06 only the City Council <br />can authorize the installation of this sign within the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />If approved the Anoka County Highway Department will install the sign 800 feet east of <br />Woodduck on the eastbound side. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
