COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DRAFT <br />3 <br />Councilmember Stoesz asked what causes roots to overtake the trails in some areas and not others. 78 <br />Mr. Degardner suggested that he believes it relates to the soil in most cases. The plans included in 79 <br />this year’s program to cut some roots will be a new preventative measure used by the City. 80 <br />Councilmember Cavegn asked about preventative measures in the past and Mr. DeGardner noted that 81 <br />typically this maintenance has been just mill and overlay; the concept of root cutting is hoped to 82 <br />provide long term impact. 83 <br />Councilmember Lyden moved to approve Resolution No. 20-49 as presented. Councilmember 84 <br />Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 85 <br />B) Lift Station No. 5 Forcemain Project Restoration: i) Consider Resolution No. 20-54, 86 <br />Accepting Quotes, Pavement Restoration; ii) Consider Resolution No. 20-58, Accepting 87 <br />Quotes, Concrete Restoration – Public Services Director DeGardner explained that the two 88 <br />resolutions would allow staff to accept quotes for two projects. He noted the low quotes received, 89 <br />the work proposed and how the work will be funded. The project schedule was reviewed. 90 <br />Councilmember Stoesz moved to approve Resolution No. 20-54 and Resolution No. 20-58 as 91 <br />presented. Councilmember Ruhland seconded the motion.
