 Page 1 <br />Memo <br />To: Katie Larsen <br />From: Andy Nelson <br />Date: July 29, 2020 <br />Re: Environmental Coordinator Comments <br />Environmental has the following comments about Nature’s Refuge: <br /> <br />• Tree protection fence shall be installed then approved by the City Forester <br />prior to any construction activities occurring on the site. <br />Tree protection fence should appear on the Tree Preservation Plan; Grading, <br />Development, and Erosion Control Plans at the correct dimensions (one foot <br />radius from trunk per inch diameter at breast height) as called for in the <br />Details Plate. <br />• Update Planting Notes on Site Landscape Plan to match Details Plate on tree <br />protection fence specifications. Tree protection fence should be installed at <br />one foot radius from trunk per inch diameter at breast height (DBH) for all <br />existing trees to be saved. <br />• Trees in Open Space areas and around storm water ponds should be fire- <br />resistant species, such as oaks, to allow for future maintenance with <br />prescribed fire. Replace trees that are not fire-tolerant with oaks. <br /> <br />Environmental
