WS – Item 6 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 6 <br />Date: September 8, 2020 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Katie Larsen <br />Re: 7831 Lake Drive-Variance for Roofing Materials <br />Background <br />The property owner of 7831 Lake Drive, Kathy Thayer, submitted a Land Use <br />Application for a variance for roofing materials. She is requesting a metal roof with <br />exposed fasteners be allowed. City ordinance allows for metal roofs with standing seam <br />(i.e. hidden fasteners). <br />In an effort to expedite the land use application process, staff would like to present the <br />September 9, 2020 Planning & Zoning Board staff report to the Council tonight. The <br />Council would then be asked to take action on September 14, 2020. If the variance is <br />approved by the Council, it will allow the property owner the opportunity to install the <br />roof sooner than waiting until October. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />None, discussion only. <br />Attachments <br />1.
