As you may be aware, many Minnesota cities, including Lino Lakes have <br />experienced severe surface delamination issues on streets that have previously been seal <br />coated. Due to these issues, a number of cities have completely gone away from seal coat <br />treatments. <br /> <br />Typical seal coat failure: <br /> <br /> <br />My previous position as city engineer for the City of Minnetonka allowed me the opportunity to <br />help build and manage a pavement management system for over 20 years. I learned a lot during <br />that time period and sought advice from many. The program is relatively simple. It is based on a <br />good road design with a thicker bituminous section. This approach provides options for cost <br />effective maintenance procedures such as mill and overlays.
