<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6H <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: October 26, 2020 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 20-125, Approving Payment No. 3 and <br />Final, Sanitary Sewer to Water Tower No. 3 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting council consideration to finalize the Sanitary Sewer to Water Tower No. 3 <br />Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On March 9, 2020, the City Council accepted the quote for the Sanitary Sewer to Water Tower <br />No. 3 from C.W. Houle, Inc. in the amount of $77,760.00. The project included extending <br />sanitary sewer from the Fire Station No. 2 site to the Water Tower No. 3 site. The Water Tower <br />No. 3 operations include a chlorine residual discharge, small amount, which the Minnesota <br />Department of Health (MDH) requires to be discharged into the City’s sanitary sewer collection <br />system. Construction of the project began in May. <br /> <br />The project was successfully completed in September with the construction costs for the base <br />bid items coming in under budget at a final contract amount of $70,791,50. Funding the project <br />is through the City’s Trunk Utility Fund. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 20-125, Approving Payment No. 3 and Final, Sanitary Sewer to Water <br />Tower No. 3 Project in the amount of $3,539.57 to C.W.
