WS – Item 1 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 1 <br />Date: November 2, 2020 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director <br />Re: 2040 Comprehensive Plan Adoption <br />Background <br />On November 25, 2019, the City Council authorized submittal of the draft 2040 Comprehensive <br />Plan to the Metropolitan Council as required by Minnesota Statutes §473.864. Over the past <br />year, City staff has worked with Metropolitan Council staff to address completeness issues <br />related to regional plans. On October 28, 2020, the Metropolitan Council took action to <br />authorize the City to put the plan into effect. <br />Kendra Lindahl of Landform, the City’s Planning Consultant, will be present to provide an <br />overview of the plan and required modifications based on the Metropolitan Council review. <br />The draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update can be found here: https://www.ci.lino- <br />lakes.mn.us/compplan. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />Staff is requesting consideration to adopt the 2040 Comprehensive Plan at the November 9, 2020 <br />regular council meeting <br />Attachments <br />1.
