<br />The engineers estimate for the project, including a 10% contingency, was $1,210,000.00. The <br />low bid was submitted by Jacon, LLC of Vadnais Heights, MN, in the amount of <br />$1,010,009.00. The project is funded though the Surface Water Management Fund (SWMF). <br />The SWMF was established in 1992 to fund costs associated with administrative, planning, and <br />trunk stormwater costs associated with the City’s Surface Water Management System. <br /> <br />The completion date for this project is October 31, 2021. <br /> <br />WSB has submitted a proposal to complete the construction services for the NE Drainage Area <br />Improvement Project in the amount of $49,878.00. This work includes contract administration, <br />construction staking, and construction observation. The construction staff ensures the project <br />plans and specifications are being met. They communicate with the Contactor as an agent of <br />the City, calculating and keeping track of daily construction quantities and costs, and address <br />public comments. The construction observer will use the City’s Standard Specifications for <br />Contraction for construction standards. They will track and measure quantities for payment on <br />a daily basis and coordinate materials testing. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 20-133, Accepting the Bid and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract in the amount of $1,010,009.00 to Jacon, LLC, and Resolution No. 20- <br />134, Approving the Construction Services Contract with WSB for the NE Drainage Area <br />Improvement Project, in the amount of $49,878.00. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
