<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6F <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: November 23, 2020 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 20-142, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 7685 Lake Drive Demolition <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the <br />7685 Lake Drive Demolition. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On June 24, 2019 the City Council approved Resolution 19-81, authorized the purchase the <br />property at 7685 Lake Drive. This property will provide a majority of the needed right of way for <br />a future realigned 77th Street access to Lake Drive. This is part of an overall redevelopment plan <br />for a future commercial area and is in coordination with the City’s Economic Development <br />Authority. Additionally, the project would aid in development of City owned properties north of <br />77th Street and properties to the south. <br /> <br />The City completed a pre-demolition hazardous material survey at the property and removed the <br />hazardous material. Quotes for the project were received on November 13th, 2020. <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL QUOTE <br />Sauter & Sons, Inc. $14,500.00 <br />Veit $21,950.00 <br /> <br />The low bid was submitted by Sauter & Sons, Inc. of Ramsey, Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$14,500.00. The completion date for this project is February 26th, 2021. Funding for the project <br />will be provided through the Municipal State Aid Street fund. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 20-142 accepting quotes and awarding a construction <br />contract for the 7685 Lake Drive Demolition, in the amount of $14,500.00 to Sauter & Sons, Inc. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
