<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6I <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: December 14, 2020 <br /> <br />TOPIC : Resolution No. 20-153, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the 2020 <br />Surface Water Maintenance Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City’s a nnual Surface Water Management Program (SWMP) addresses areas in need of <br />maintenance, and conforms to the City’s Surface Water Pollution and Prevention Plan. The City will <br />perform storm sewer repair and cleaning, vegetation removal, sediment removal, and pond cleanings. <br />This year’s project primarily includes storm s ewer repair and cleaning, vegetation removal, and <br />sediment removal. This type of work is best completed in dry conditions or the winter season. With <br />the remaining budget, the City is working on a separate quote request for a pond cleaning project. <br /> <br />The 2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project includes seven project sites, shown in the table below: <br /> <br />Funding for the project is from the General Fund S treets Budget, which includes $140,000 for the <br />Surface Water Maintenance projects. <br /> <br />AREA IMPROVEMENT <br />Site 1 (2237 LaCasse Drive) Repair breach in storm pond embankment <br />Site 2 (6344 Red Hawk Trail) Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation near a pipe outlet to <br />a pond <br />Site 3 (8215 Blackbird Lane) Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation near a pipe outlet to <br />a pond <br />Site 4 (Holly Drive &12th Avenue) Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation near a pipe outlets <br />to a pond <br />Site 5 (6800 Lake Drive) Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation near storm <br />structure <br />Site 6 (6381 Holly Drive) Repair broken storm structure <br />Site 7 (8215 Blackbird Lane) Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation along property line
