CITY COUNCIL <br /> AGENDA ITEM 4A <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Swenson, Public Safety Director <br /> MEETING DATE: November 8, 2021 <br /> TOPIC: Approve Resolution 21-129 Authorizing City Prosecutor Access to <br /> Minnesota Government Data <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The Lino Lakes City Council approved a contract with GDO Law, formerly known as Geck, <br /> Duea& Olson, for prosecution services at the January 25, 2021 Council Meeting. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> As part of providing prosecution services,prosecutor must have access to the electronic criminal <br /> and court documents.This access is currently granted to the attorney's serving as CityProsecutors <br /> through a system that will be upgraded by the State of Minnesota. <br /> As part of the roll out of the upgraded Minnesota Government Access (MGA) the State of <br /> Minnesota is requiring that the City pass a resolution acknowledging the law firm that is <br /> providing prosecution services to the City. This resolution further authorizes staff to sign the <br /> Court Data Services Subscriber Amendment to CJDN Subscriber Agreement and State of <br /> Minnesota Joint Powers Agreement Authorized Agency agreements.
