MEETING DATE: December 13, 2021 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 21-154, Authorize the Preparation of <br />Plans and Specs, 2022 East Shadow Lake Drive Utility Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting Council authorization to prepare plans and specifications for the 2022 East <br />Shadow Lake Drive Utility Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Through routine maintenance and pipe investigation, staff has identified sewer mains that have <br />settled and are sagging along East Shadow Lake Drive and Lantern Lane. This has led to water <br />infiltration and impacts to sewer flows. The project will include replacement of sagging sanitary <br />pipes, manholes, water system replacement, roadway reconstruction and restoration of adjacent <br />property. The project will result in reduced inflow and infiltration of ground water in the <br />sanitary sewer system. <br /> <br />WSB & Associates has submitted a proposal to complete the plans and specifications, and provide <br />bid documents for the 2022 East Shadow Lake Drive Utility Project in the amount of $22,500.00. <br /> <br />The estimated total project cost is $510,000. The project is funded through the City’s Sewer <br />Operating Fund. <br /> <br />The project schedule: <br /> <br />Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specifications December 13, 2021 <br />Order Improvement, Approve Plans and Specs, Authorize Ad for Bids January 24, 2022 <br />City Opens Bids February 22, 2022 <br />City Council Awards Contract February 28, 2022 <br />Construction Begins April-May, 2022 <br />Final Completion October, 2022 <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 21-154, Authorizing the Preparation of Plans <br />and Specifications, 2022 East Shadow Lake Drive Utility Project.
