l \, <br /> CITY OF <br /> IN E <br /> DATE : January 5 , 2022 <br /> TO : Park Board Members <br /> FROM : Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br /> RE : Woods of Baldwin Lake Park Master Plan <br /> The following information was included in the Winter 2021 - 2022 City Newsletter : <br /> Woods of Baldwin Lake Park is a 3 - acre park located at 6130 Oak Wood Lane . The current park <br /> features some playground equipment (installed in 1994) and a paved trail. Woods of Baldwin Lake <br /> Park is currently under consideration for renovation in 2022 . As the City explores this opportunity, <br /> we are seeking input from the community to help guide the future enhancements of this park. Park <br /> concept plans will be available for Woods of Baldwin Lake area residents online from November <br /> 1st though November 19 `h, 2021 at linolakes . us/parks . For more information on this project visit <br /> the City website at linolakes . us/parks and follow us on Facebook @11nolakesmn . Your input will <br /> help shape the park 's futuNe . <br /> The 2019 master plan and one alternative concept were available for public comment via a platform <br /> called Social Pinpoint from November 1 - 19 . In total , 18 people provided 39 comments . Key <br /> takeaways from comments included : <br /> • Remove buckthorn and revegetate with native shrubs <br /> • Those who want to update play equipment prefer a large play area with <br /> swings <br /> • Protect wildlife and natural elements of park <br /> • Minimal tables <br /> • Prefer basketball court over exercise pod <br /> Comments split on boardwalk . Those in favor would like 2 entrances to the <br /> park . Those against it view it as unnecessary , a wildlife barrier , and an <br /> obstruction of their view . <br /> � Doggie station is highly used feature currently <br /> • There was discussion on adding a streetlight at current entrance <br /> • Comment on the site attracting a lot of mosquitoes <br /> The following items are attached : <br /> 1 . All comments collected from online public engagement <br /> 2 . Updated Master Plan , dated December 27 , 2021 <br /> Staff recommends the Park Board adopt a final master plan for Woods of Baldwin Lake Park . Plans <br /> and Specs can be prepared over the next few months with the intent of going out for bid February - <br /> March , with construction commencing Spring , 2022 . <br />
