AGENDA ITEM 1F <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy Clerk <br /> MEETING DATE: January 10,2022 <br /> TOPIC Consider Resolution 22-12,Approving <br /> On-Sale Wine, Sunday Sales and 3.2 Beer Licenses <br /> for Mama Mia Mexican Grill <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> Maureen Johnson of Mama Mia 01 LLC, d/b/a Mama Mia Mexican Grill located at 7997 Lake <br /> Drive, Suite 110 is applying for an On-Sale Wine, Sunday Sales and 3.2 Beer liquor licenses. <br /> This location has previously held the same licenses by Elwood's Bar&Restaurant. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The application submitted to the City is complete, the related fees have been paid and insurance <br /> information has been provided to the City as required. The Lino Lakes Public Safety <br /> Department has conducted a background on the current owner and found no reason to deny. <br /> In accordance with the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances, Section 701 relating to Liquor <br /> Licensing,this application requires approval by the City Council. The code also requires that <br /> opportunity shall be given to any person to be heard for or against the granting of the license. <br /> The council may then, in its discretion, grant or refuse the application. <br /> If local approval is granted,the application for an On-Sale Wine and Sunday Sales licenses will <br /> be forwarded to the Minnesota Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division for review. The <br /> State of Minnesota is the licensing authority for wine and Sunday sales licenses; the City is the <br /> licensing authority for the 3.2 beer license. <br /> The applicant is aware that approval is subject to all the provisions, approvals, conditions and <br /> waiting periods of the laws of the city, state and federal government. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the On-Sale Wine, Sunday Sales and 3.2 Beer License for <br /> Mama Mia Mexican Grill. <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> Resolution No. 22-12 <br />
