COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> APPROVED <br /> 42 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 43 There was no report from the Finance Department. <br /> 44 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 45 3A) Appointment of Accounting Clerk I—Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed the <br /> 46 staff report that included information on the current vacancy, a candidate who currently works in <br /> 47 the Community Development Department and the staff recommendation to hire that candidate, <br /> 48 Jessica Eller. Ms. Eller's qualifications were reviewed. <br /> 49 Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve the appointment of Jessica Eller as recommended. <br /> 50 Councilmember Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 51 313) Appointment of Public Safety CSO—Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed the <br /> 52 written staff report that included information on the hiring process and the recommended <br /> 53 candidate. The individual has served the department as a reserve officer and done a fine job. <br /> 54 Councilmember Stoesz asked how many years this individual is away from completing his <br /> 55 degree. Director Swenson noted that he envisions that period to be 18 months. <br /> 56 Councilmember Lyden moved to approve the appointment of Jacob Mullen as recommended. <br /> 57 Councilmember Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 58 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 59 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br /> 60 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 61 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br /> 62 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT <br /> 63 There was no report from the Community Development Department. <br /> 64 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 65 There was no Unfinished Business. <br /> 66 <br /> 67 NEW BUSINESS <br /> 68 Activity Center Update—Public Service Director DeGardner provided an update: <br /> 69 - Sale of Fitness Equipment is Underway—a few pieces of equipment remain but much has <br /> 70 been sold; Endurance Fitness will keep a couple pieces of equipment; <br /> 71 - State of Minnesota,Vacation of Activity Center Building—COVID testing operations <br /> 72 will be out of the activity center as of Thursday this week. Staff is actively advertising <br /> 73 that change to avoid confusion for people seeking testing; <br /> 74 - Center Manager Hiring Process—Seven candidates interviewed; finalists will be <br /> 75 interviewed and a recommendation forwarded to the council in early January; <br /> 76 - Other Positions for The Rookery— Staff is finalizing job descriptions and opening the <br /> 77 process for applicants soon. <br /> 78 <br /> 2 <br />
