Agritourism Draft Ordinance <br />(g) Gift shops and markets for the sale of agricultural products and agriculturally <br />related products. Gift shops for the sale of non -agriculturally related products, are limited to 25 <br />percent of items offered for sale. <br />(h) Uses (a) through (g) listed above may include any or all of the following ancillary <br />agriculturally related uses and some non -agriculturally related uses so long as the general <br />agricultural character of the farm is maintained, and the non -agriculturally related uses comprise <br />less than 50 percent of the gross receipts from the farm. <br />1. Value-added agricultural products or activities such as educational tours of the <br />site or processing facilities, educational classes, lectures, seminars, etc. <br />2. Playgrounds or equipment typical of a school playground, such as slides, swings, <br />etc. (not including motorized vehicles or rides). <br />3. Petting farms, animal display, and pony rides. <br />4. Wagon, sleigh, and hayrides. <br />5. Nature trails. <br />6. Open air or covered picnic area with restrooms. <br />7. Historical agricultural exhibits. <br />(4) The site must comply with the following minimum standards: <br />(a) Minimum lot area of ten (10) acres. <br />(b) All uses permitted by this section shall be accessed on a collector street as <br />identified on the functional classification map with the condition that the increase in traffic shall <br />not create a nuisance, to nearby residents by way of traffic or noise or increase the public cost in <br />maintaining the street. <br />(c) A 50-foot open buffer shall be provided on all sides of the property not abutting a <br />public street unless it is adjacent to a natural feature such as a wetland, lake, river, or public land <br />subject to City review and approval. <br />
