CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO.22-24 ACCEPTING BASE BID AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WATER TOWER NO.2 REHABILITATION PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the Water Tower No. 2 Reconditioning Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement; and CONTRACTOR TOTAL BASE BID Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. $1,188,857.80 Viking Industrial Painting $1,428,600.00 TMI Coatings, Inc. $1,637,000.00 WHEREAS, it appears that Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the city to proceed with Base Bid, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Classic Protective Coatings, Inc., in the amount of $1,188,857.80 by the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the Base Bid construction of the Water Tower No. 2 Rehabilitation Project according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 14th day of February, 2022.
