C I T O F Environmental Memo
INORK!;3E
To: Diane Hankee, Kelsey Gelhar
From: Andy Nelson
Date: January 18th, 2022
Re: Environmental Comments/Rehbein black dirt pile
1. A trained individual with current certification in erosion and sediment control
must perform inspections at a minimum every 7 days and within 24 hours
after a rainfall event greater than '/2 inch in 24 hours. Inspection records must
be retained with the SWPPP and include information detailed in 11.11 of the
Construction Stormwater General Permit. Contact information for the
inspector must be provided to the city prior to any soil disturbance on the site.
2. Silt fence should be used instead of the sediment control logs shown on the
plan. A trench 1-2' deep on the stockpile side of the silt fence is
recommended to minimize maintenance of the silt fence.
Note that BMPs that become non-functional or'/2 full of sediment must be
repaired, replaced, or supplemented by the end of the next day after
discovery.
3. Street tracking generated must be swept within one calendar day of
discovery.
4. Water suppression, soil binding agents, wind blocks, or other dust
suppression methods may be required if dust leaving the site becomes an
issue as identified by the city.
5. Rock construction entrance will require regular maintenance.
6. Portions of the stockpile that are not in regular use should be stabilized with
seed and hyrdomulch.
•Page 1
