COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> APPROVED <br /> 119 3B) Consider 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 06-21 , Adjusting the Salaries of the Mayor and <br /> 120 Councilmembers — Administrator Cotton noted that staff is recommending that the council approve <br /> 121 the second reading and passage of this ordinance providing for future adjustments to the salary for <br /> 122 council and mayor. The salary increase is based on what has been approved for staff. <br /> 123 Councilmember Cavegn moved to waive the full reading of Ordinance No . 06-21 as presented. <br /> 124 Councilmember Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 125 Councilmember Lyden moved to approve the second reading and adoption of Ordinance No . 06-21 as <br /> 126 presented . Councilmember Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried : Yeas, 5 ; Nays none . <br /> 127 3C) Consider Approval of Amendment #4 to Lease Agreement with NCCC, LLC (New <br /> 128 Creations Child Care) — Administrator Cotton explained that the day care group operating at the City <br /> 129 hall complex inquired about leasing additionnal sapee from the City. Staff has negotiated an <br /> 130 amendment to their current lease to provide for that additonal space . The additional revenue was <br /> 131 noted. <br /> 132 Councilmember Lyden moved to approve the amendment as presented. Councilmember Stoesz <br /> 133 seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote <br /> 134 3D) Consider Resolution No. 21-64, Authorizing Execution of Amendment No. 1 to the <br /> 135 License Agreement with the State of Minnesota for the Lino Lakes COVID49 Vaccine Site — <br /> G 136 Administrator Cotton explained that the State of Minnesota wishes to extend their lease of the former <br /> 137 YMCA facilties through at least July 31 but possiblity through August 31sr. <br /> 138 Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve Resolution No . 21 -64 as presented. Councilmember <br /> 139 Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote <br /> 140 3E) Consider Appointment of Police Officer — Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed staff s <br /> 141 recommendation to hire Yecheng "Eric" Hen as the next police officer for the Public Safety <br /> 142 Department. Mr. Swenson explained Mr. Heu' s qualifications . <br /> 143 Councilmember Cavegn moved to approve the appointment of Yecheng "Eric" Heu as recommended. <br /> 144 Councilmember Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote <br /> 145 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 146 4A) Consider Acceptance of Donated Gift Cards — Public Safety Director Swenson first <br /> 147 thanked the Mayor and Council for the proclamation presented to the department earlier. He <br /> 148 continued that this item and the council' s recognition is indicative of the high level of support that <br /> 149 the department receives from the community. That is not the case in every city. <br /> 150 Director Swenson explained that the generosity of the community has resulted in additional gift <br /> 151 cards received in the amount of $585 . The total amount is just under $2 ,800 . The cards have been <br /> 152 used to provide food for training sessions for the department. They are also considering utilizing <br /> 153 the cards to provide support to community members as they see needs as part of the department' s <br /> 154 Pay It Forward efforts . <br /> 155 Councilmember Lyden said he appreciates being a part of a community that shows this type of <br /> 156 caring and consideration. He applauds the donators of the cards . <br /> 157 Councilmember Ruhland said he agrees and also is glad that he lives in a community where the <br /> 158 police are doing a program such as Pay It Forward . <br /> 4 <br />
