CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Kyle Leibel, Deputy Director Police Division <br />MEETING DATE: March 28, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Acceptance of Donated Gift Cards <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department is requesting council approval to accept gift cards as <br />a donation from Lino Lakes' community members. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Over the last several months there has been many community members that have dropped off <br />gift cards and food in appreciation of our police and fire staff. The gift cards have a monetary <br />value of more than $5.00 and cannot be given to staff members directly. <br />If council accepts the donation of these gift cards, staff will use the cards to provide public <br />safety staff with food and refreshments at department meetings, department trainings, and shift <br />or station meetings or the gift cards will be passed on to our Pay It Forward program. <br />Here is a list of gift cards donated to date: <br />1 <br />9/13/2021 <br />Cheese Cake Factory <br />50.00 <br />1 <br />10/1/2021 <br />Holiday Gas Station <br />20.00 <br />2 <br />12/20/2021 <br />Outback <br />200.00 <br />1 <br />12/20/2021 <br />Caribou Coffee <br />20.00 <br />2 <br />12/20/2021 <br />Caribou Coffee <br />10.00 <br />3 <br />12/27/2021 <br />Domino's <br />30.00 <br />1 <br />12/28/2021 <br />Target Card <br />20.00 <br />The total value of the gifts cards is $350.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the gift cards as presented. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
