CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22-44 <br />AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FOR CENTENNIAL BOY SCOUT <br />TROOP 232 FAMILY OURDOOR EXPO ON OCTOBER 1, 2022 <br />WHERAS, the Centennial Boy Scout Troop 232 has submitted an application for a special event <br />permit; and <br />WHERAS, the event plan includes many learning and interactive events such as: obstacle <br />course, cub scout information, "scout walk", boy scout knots, overview of how scouts cook <br />while camping, model campsite select and race a sailboat, build a first aid kit, experiment with <br />radio -controlled cars and drones; and <br />WHERAS, the Public Services Department and the Public Safety Department has reviewed <br />plans for the event and has provided conditions for the permit; and <br />WHEREAS, all fires will consist of charcoal contained in metal pans. The pans will be placed <br />on a barrier so as to not burn the grass. There will be fire extinguisher on site and there will also <br />be water for extinguishing the coals at the end of the event. All leftover ash and extinguished <br />coals will be removed from the site; and <br />WHEREAS, the City will coordinate the renting of any additional portable restrooms, and <br />charge the Boy Scouts; and <br />WHERAS, proof of general liability insurance has been submitted to cover all events held at <br />Lino Lakes by the Centennial Boy Scout Troop 232; and <br />WHEREAS, city staff has reviewed the Special Event Permit for the proposed event and is in <br />concurrence with city regulations; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota: <br />That the City Council authorizes issuance of a Special Event Permit to the Centennial Boy Scout <br />Troop 232 for the event scheduled on October 1, 2022, with conditions attached hereto. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 25th day of April, 2022. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />and was duly seconded by Council Member and upon vote <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />
