It shall provide an opportunity for members of the community to ask questions <br />and provide input concerning Stormwater management policies and best management <br />practices <br /> <br />The meeting provides a forum for the city to present the purpose, goals and requirements <br />of the SWPPP and is intended to educate, inform and encourage citizens to provide input <br />and comment on the SWPPP. <br /> <br />Minnesota Correctional Facility presenters were Mr. Mark Ostrander, Safety Administer, <br />Mr. David Rydeen, Physical Plant Director and Mr. Doug Anderson, Maintenance <br />Supervisor. Mr. Ostrander showed a power point presentation of the SWPPP practices <br />that they use. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ostrander presented background information about Minnesota Correctional Facility: <br /> <br />• Treatment plant no industry <br />• Facility covers 150 acres <br />• 5 outfalls, 3 retention ponds <br />• Physical plant, garage lawn and grounds <br />• Facility has MS4 permit <br />• Developed and implemented SWPPP in 2006 <br /> <br />The SWPPP Activities for 2012 were: <br /> <br />• Install drain tile in an continuous wet spot <br />• Solve an erosion control on campus grounds <br />• Maintenance & sweeping of the parking lots, sidewalk and streets within the prison <br />• Cleaning of catch basins <br />• Cleaning of storm drain inlets <br />• Conduct training on SWPPP & MS4 requirements <br /> <br />He stated that Minnesota Correctional Facility of Lino Lakes will continue to focus on <br />preventing stormwater pollution by: <br /> <br />• Providing education materials for employees as well as visual displays to promote <br />awareness about impact of storm water runoff on water quality. <br />• Conduct facility inspections <br />• Perform spill prevention <br />• Inspection and clean storm drain inlets <br />• Performing pond/ditch maintenance <br />• Proper handling of hazardous material <br />• Keep parking surfaces and storage areas clean <br />• Look at reducing salt/sand applications <br /> <br />
