This referendum would amend <br /> the City Charter to not allow the City Council members (including the Mayor) to also <br /> be members of the Lino Lakes Charter Commission. <br /> Proposed chance to the Charter. <br /> On page three of the Lino Lakes City Charter. <br /> In Chapter II Section 2.04 insert"be a member of the City Charter Commission,". <br /> Section 2.04 would be as follows: <br /> Section 2.04. Incompatible Offices. No member of the Council shall be a member of <br /> the City Charter Commission,hold any paid municipal office or employment through <br /> the City other than that to which elected.Further,until one(1)year after the expiration of <br /> his/her term,no Mayor or Council Member shall be appointed or employed by the City in <br /> a compensated position which was created,or the compensation for which was increased, <br /> during his/her term as Mayor or Council Member. <br /> Change to the Minnesota State Statutes <br /> Chapter 410 Section .05 before August 1,2004 <br /> Subdivision 1. Appointment. <br /> No person shall be disqualified from sensing on a charter <br /> commission by reason of holding any other elective or appointive <br /> office other than,Judicial <br /> After August 1,2004 <br /> Except as otherwise provided in the charter,no person shall be <br /> disqualified from serving on a charter commission by reason of <br /> holding any other elective or appointive office other than <br /> judicial. The charter may provide that members of the governing <br /> body of the city cannot serve on the charter commission. <br />
