April 5, 2006
Julie Bartell
City Clerk
City of Lino Lakes
Dear Ms. Bartell:
This e-mail is in response to your recent request for information
concerning any update on eminent domain. To this point, there is no
bill that has passed through both houses and signed by the Governor.
SF2750 (copy attached) passed the Senate on March 27th by a vote of 64-
2 and had its second reading on the House floor yesterday. It is
pretty clear the Legislature will pass, and the Governor will sign a
bill substantially restricting the use of eminent domain.
The League of Minnesota Cities provides these materials for general
informational purposes. I hope the provided information meets your
needs.
Respectfully,
/s/
Scott M. Kelly
Research Attorney
League of Minnesota Cities
