CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 511 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />MEETING DATE: May 23, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 22-61, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, Woods of Baldwin Lake Park Site <br />Improvements, Rick DeGardner <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the <br />Woods of Baldwin Lake Park Site Improvements. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Attached is the Park Board's recommended plan for site work improvements at Woods of <br />Baldwin Lake Park. <br />One quote was received for the above -referenced project on Monday May 9th, 2022. The bid <br />was checked for mathematical accuracy and confirmed that G.L. Contracting, Medina, MN <br />submitted a quote in the amount of $165,123.40. <br />The Engineer's Estimate was $145,746.50. The quote was higher than anticipated, likely due to <br />current marketplace uncertainties, fuel costs, and labor costs. <br />Staff recommends award a construction contract to G.L. Contracting based on their bid and past <br />performance constructing parks. <br />Funding will be from the Dedicated Parks Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 22-61 <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
