Mr. Haeg stated that they would like to locate in this area because the signal <br />strength can easily be received when moved into the center of the population. <br />He also stated that W000 is a 50 kilowatt clear channel station. <br />They would construct a building that would house two 50,000 watt transmitters` <br />valued at about $75,000 to $80,000 a piece. Mr. Rehbein asked about the tax <br />structure. He was told that it would be taxed as commercial property and that <br />they get no special exemptions. <br />They said that the land would be left in its natural state or that they would do <br />reforestation to beautify it. <br />Entrance to the tower would be on Holly Drive. Mr. Sherman said that there <br />should be no extra traffic problems. After construction, the most traff ie should <br />be two oars going in and out. The base of the tower and the bases of the guy <br />wires would be security fenced. <br />Mr. Haeg stated that they would like to become residents of Lino Lakes. <br />It was reported that it would be illegal for them to do any construction with <br />the FCC until they are granted a permit. They don't know exactly how long it <br />will take to get a construction permit. <br />Mr. Rehbein moved to recommend to the Council to approve the special use permit <br />they are asking for but not of leaving the zoning as is and that adequate plans <br />be presented. Mr. Hill asked if something could be worked out for park or <br />recreation. He was told that there would be a triangular fence surrounding the <br />guy wires. Motion seconded by Mr. Kelling. Motion carried. Mr. Locher also <br />mentioned that the legal posting should be satisfied. <br />The hearing for the Zoning District Code was held. Mr. Locher read the affidavit <br />of publication from the Forest Lake Times It was mentioned that it would provide <br />for many more breakdowns than the other zoning classifications. After some <br />discussion Mr. Jester moved that it be tabled until the next meeting until we <br />get a chance to read it. Seconded by Mr. Hill. Motion carried. Mr. McLean <br />moved that the hearing be continued until the next meeting when they should be <br />prepared to act. Seconded by Mr. Hill. Motion carried. <br />The Ken Rehbein hearing will be continued until the next meeting. <br />The meeting of June 2, 1971, was not held due to the inavailability of Mr. Hawkins. <br />The matter of the wetlands ordinance will be taken up with the Park Board. <br />Mr. Hill asked about helicopter practice landings that are being made. Mr. Jester <br />said that we should recommend to the Council that they investigate this and the <br />FAA regulations on use of helicopters. <br />Mr. Jester asked whether the Park Board has come up with a proposal with the <br />land use ordinance. Mr. Hawkins said they now have another model to consider <br />for the ordinance. <br />Mr. Rehbein moved to adjourn at 10 :42.
