Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION <br />The engine instrumentation is to be included in the specified fire pump pressure control system "engine <br />governor". Instrumentation shall be integral with the Governor Control. <br />PUMP COOLER, TO GROUND <br />The pump is to have a 3/8" line installed from the pump discharge, to the aft of the rear axle to cool the <br />pump during long periods of pumping when water is not being discharged. The pump cooler shall be <br />controlled from the pump operators panel by a 3/8" valve consisting of a cast bronze body with 1/4 turn <br />chrome plated bronze ball, reinforced Teflon seals, and blow -out -proof stem rated to 600 PSI. Cooler <br />must discharge to ground, so that onboard water is not contaminated with plant fire water. <br />The valve control is to be located on the pump panel and clearly labeled. <br />SELF BLEEDING SUCTION CAPS <br />The specified "threaded" suction caps shall be the VLH Class-1, Trident or equivalent which <br />incorporates a cross -machined thread design to automatically relief stored pressure in the line during <br />un-capping. <br />SELF -BLEEDING DISCHARGE OUTLET CAPS, AND ELBOWS <br />Where specified, the rocker lug discharge caps and outlet elbow extensions are to be VLH, Class-1, <br />Trident, or equivalent which incorporates a cross -machined thread design to automatically relieve stored <br />pressure in the line during uncapping/unthreading. <br />BUMPER DISCHARGE <br />FRONT BUMPER 2" PRECONNECT DISCHARGES <br />One (1) front bumper 2" gated discharges to be furnished with: 1.5" NST male outlet x 2.0" inlet 90 <br />degree discharge swivel, Auto -Drain hose line bleeder valve, 2" i.d. stainless steel pipe or wire reinforced <br />hose with 2" stainless end fittings, 2.5" Waterous 1/4-turn discharge valve with chrome plated ball and <br />spring loaded self-adjusting seal assembly (located inside pump compartment), and push-pull chrome <br />"twist -to -lock" discharge control handle with recessed color coded nameplate located on the pump <br />operator's control panel. <br />BUMPER SWIVEL DISCHARGE OUTLET - BOTTOM OF HOSE WELL <br />07/26/22 <br />-81- <br />
