Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />HOSEBED COVERS -- ALUMINUM 4-WAY NFPA EMBOSSED TREADPLATE <br />Two (2), individual polished 4-way aluminum NFPA embossed treadplate hose bed covers to be <br />furnished, extending from front hose bed cross divider to rear of body. Hose bed covers to be triple <br />fabricated construction for maximum strength, and allow for a walk -able top surface, equipped with <br />polished stainless steel full length piano hinges bolted to top flange of specified hose bed outboard risers. <br />Back end plates of hose bed covers to be equipped with horizontal 1-.25" diameter knurled hand railings <br />with chrome plated bolted brackets. Both covers are to be equipped with bracket props to secure covers <br />in the opened position. Polished stainless steel fabricated rear coupling guides are to be furnished <br />horizontally at rear under cover area, designed to prevent snagging of hose and couplings. <br />Two (2) individual vinyl coated nylon (customer designated color) hose bed cover end flaps (tarps) shall <br />be furnished with weighted bottom seams, permanently attached to bottom rear flange of hose bed <br />covers. <br />LED LIGHT STRIPS UNDERSIDE ALUMINUM HOSEBED COVERS <br />Four (4) 12-volt multiple LED element, "underside" metal hose bed cover horizontally mounted "strip" <br />tubular lights, shall be furnished. Light strips are to be positioned, one (1) at each front and back top <br />corner of the folded -open hose bed covers. Light strips shall be activated by a single pump operator's <br />panel mounted illuminated rocker switch. <br />TAILBOARD, EMBOSSED .187" ALUMINUM TREADPLATE <br />A 101" wide rear step/tailboard shall be furnished, constructed of .187" polished 4-way aluminum <br />treadplate material, with an NFPA approved (as slip -resistant) "embossed" tread top surface. <br />Tailboard shall be a single piece fabrication, with perimeter fabricated flanges, side and rear same width <br />as the body rub rails, and outboard rear corners "beveled" 45-degrees. The beveled corner flanges and the <br />rear flange of tailboard shall be double -broke and have a total of five (5) diamond shape cut-outs, <br />exposing the under flange mounted rear corner marker lights and rear center marker light cluster. <br />Tailboard shall be spaced .5" away from the rear face of body, for drainage, bolted in position and easily <br />replaceable in the event of damage. Underside of aluminum treadplate tailboard is to be lined with a <br />dielectric barrier tape, separating the aluminum from the dissimilar metal underbody sub -frame structure. <br />Per NFPA: Steps, platforms, or secure ladders shall be provided so that firefighters have access to all <br />working and storage areas of the apparatus. The maximum stepping height from ground to first step shall <br />not exceed 24". Additional steps cannot be more than 18" apart. All steps, platforms, or ladders shall <br />sustain a minimum static load of 500 pounds. without permanent deformation and shall have skid <br />resistant surfaces. Any step shall have a minimum area of 35 sq. in. Platform shall have a minimum depth <br />of 8". <br />07/26/22 <br />- 120 - <br />
