AGENDA ITEM 1G <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy Clerk <br /> MEETING DATE: September 12, 2022 <br /> TOPIC: Consider Approval of Resolution 22-108, Approving a new <br /> Tobacco License for Ai Afureedy, AK Smoke Zone Inc. <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> Mr. Ai Afureedy has applied for a tobacco license. Mr. Ai Afureedy has applied for a tobacco <br /> license to open a new tobacco store located at 7107 Otter Lake Road, Suite 120. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The application submitted to the City is complete, the related fees have been paid to the City as <br /> required. In addition, the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department has conducted the required <br /> background investigation on the applicant. <br /> In accordance with the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances, Section 602.02 relating to Tobacco <br /> Licensing, this application requires approval by the City Council. The code also requires that <br /> opportunity shall be given to any person to be heard for or against the granting of the license. <br /> The council may then, in its discretion, grant or refuse the application. <br /> The applicant is aware that approval is subject to all the provisions and conditions of the laws of <br /> the city, state and federal government. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the approval of a Tobacco Licenses for Mr. Ai Afureedy, AK Smoke Zone <br /> Inc. <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> Resolution No. 22-108 <br />
